Cu-Al Transition Busbar For Wind Power

The copper-aluminum transition connector is a customized transitional connection component for onshore and offshore wind power scenarios. Its core function is to solve the reliable connection requirements between copper conductors and aluminum conductors in the wind power system. It is suitable for wind turbines of various power levels ranging from 1.5MW to 15MW, and is compatible with key equipment such as transformer boxes, current collectors, and switch cabinets in substations.

It is a core component that ensures the stability of electrical transmission and the ability to withstand harsh environments in the wind power system.

The Application For Cu-Al Transition Busbar

    1. Internal connections of wind turbine generator cabins:

    • Transition connection between generator stator/rotor copper terminals and the aluminum busbar of the cabin (suitable for doubly-fed and direct-drive generators)

    • Connection between copper components in the cabin control cabinet and the aluminum busbar (such as the wiring terminals of frequency converters and contactors)

    • Copper-aluminum connection between slip ring boxes and the cabin power distribution system (able to withstand the rotating vibration environment of the wind turbine)

    2. Connection of box-type transformers (box transformers):

    • Transition connection between the copper bushings on the high-voltage side (10kV-35kV) of the box transformer and the aluminum busbar

    • Connection between the copper terminals on the generator side of the low-voltage side (0.69kV) and the aluminum busbar of the box transformer

    • Transition connection of copper-aluminum wiring terminals for internal components such as transformers and lightning arresters in the box transformer

    3. Connection of combiner boxes / inverters:

    • Connection between the copper terminals in the combiner box and the aluminum busbar of the combiner box in photovoltaic-wind hybrid projects

    • Transition connection between the copper terminals at the input/output of the inverter and the aluminum busbar (suitable for high current and high-frequency start-stop scenarios)

    4. Connection of step-up stations / collection lines:

    • Transition connection between the copper busbar of the switch cabinet in the wind farm step-up station and the aluminum collection line

    • Transition connection between the aluminum collection line and the copper busbar bridge when multiple wind turbines operate in parallel

    • Terminal connection between the submarine cables (copper core) of the offshore wind farm and the aluminum busbar of the land-based step-up station
